    American Morally Bankrupt

Geez. We have gone down a spiral of moral degradation over the last 40 years. Most of us don't even know what a trustworthy society looks like. This has caused many problems to our society.

Here is my list of reasons:

Immoral Music: Used to shock people and make money out of people's curiosity of the dark side.

Immoral Movies: Used to shock people and make money out of people's curiosity of the dark side.

Immoral Video Games: Used to shock people and make money out of people's curiosity of the dark side.

Immoral Children: A result of the combination of immoral music, movies, and video games combined.

Good people transforming into immoral people: Good people losing faith in a moral society and thinking the only way to succeed is through immoral tactics. Another way to look at it is; the bad apple spoils the bunch.

A possible alternative to immoral media: Replace media concerning drugs, violence, crime, and manipulation with liberal sexual media. People want to get shocked, laugh, or get entertained by something somewhat taboo. Well, I think it is better to replace all the current stuff with sexual media. Many Asian and European countries currently do this with much success. People are entertained but not brainwashed into becoming criminals, ect...

We can't eradicate the taboo part of life altogether or else the population will protest. Nobody wants to entertain themselves with boring shows like: The Facts of Life - Too boring. Entertain the people with alternative means. But unless laws reflect the new changes, Hollywood will not change on its own.

Only question is how to get over the 1st amendment. The problem with the first amendment is that it get so abused. We need to find a happy medium where people can say whatever they want, but damaging statements or media that really drops a load of problems onto society as whole, and has proven in the past to alter the thinking of society in such negative ways that it has caused major distress upon the entire country, should be outlawed as being non-productive. These laws should be exact so that courts don't abuse the general populations general rights and privileges. These laws would have to be written in a way that takes all the guess work out of it when it appears in court. In fact, we should make a law that makes it a law to make free speech laws exacting.

Not a bad idea. Who's with me? Do you really want your 10 year old boy listening to hard core gangster rap and chopping people's heads off in video games? Do you think by shooting cops in Grand Theft Auto 4 will teach him positive morals? How about your daughter playing a game in which a pimp hustles women and the only way to pass the level is to kill the women and take their money. Do you think this is healthy, or even productive? Shouldn't games, music, and media like this be monitored by the government?

Many European countries think so. We are a great country, but it is wise to see the highlights of your "competition" and learn from them to better yourself.

Your answer to moral bankruptcy is liberal sex and government censorship? I like my video games. Better we live out our dark fantasies in a digital sandbox than in reality. Violence existed long before digital media, and probably to a greater and more barbaric degree than what occurs today. Just read your bible. Also, it never hurts to be a little more open minded. Not everything is so morally depraved as it appears to be. Sometimes you have to look below the surface (especially in movies and music) to find the message the author intended to convey. The world will always be what it is. Emotional evolution occurs on a personal basis. That is why it is the parent who is responsible for the media their children have access to. If you let your child play with fire knowing that he/she will possibly get burnt, that's your fault. On the other hand, at some point your child must play with fire or grow up in ignorance, an outcast from a society that understands the nature of fire.

I think this is more due to drugs, Ritalin, aderal, etc... and lack of the use of the "Belt"

My generation is the first of the "ADHD" kids, before kids were just told to get there @$$ outside and play, now its all indoor stuff, where energy can not be used up easily.

Tell your kids to go outside, lock the door behind them as they leave, and restrict there TV or video game time to only a hour or two a week, or even month... and dont be afraid to whip your kids as a punishment. Kids learn from pain, not from boardum as the time out idea causes.

Dont like what I have to say? TOUGH!!!
